Athletics, cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, kho kho, chess, and table tennis. Inter house competition runs all year and the strongest players go on to district level meets.

There is more to a school day than lessons
Every child at Maxford belongs to a house, and every child is expected to take part in something beyond the classroom. Not because it looks good on a certificate, but because most children find out what they are good at somewhere other than a textbook.
The NCC unit, the sports teams, the stage productions, the science exhibition, and the English conversation classes all run inside school hours, so no child is left out because of a bus timing or an extra fee.

Beyond the classroom
What students do here
Stage and culture
Drawing, painting, craft, classical and folk dance, vocal and instrumental music, and drama. The stage gets used through the year, at Mother's Day, Republic Day, and the Annual Day production.
Science exhibition and clubs
The annual science exhibition where students build and explain their own working models, plus the computer club, eco club, literary and debating society, and quiz club.
NCC
Cadets drill through the year and lead the Republic Day and Independence Day parades. The discipline carries into the classroom, and the certificate carries weight in later applications.
House system
Houses compete in sport, quizzes, cultural events, and discipline points through the year. House captains are elected by students from Class IX and above.
Trips and excursions
Day trips for junior classes and longer educational excursions for senior students, including science centres, historical sites, and industry visits for commerce students.
Service and citizenship
Cleanliness drives, tree planting, road safety awareness, and collection drives for local causes. Senior students plan and run these themselves.
